The Mount Meru 3 Days Trekking adventure offers an incredible opportunity to experience the beauty and diversity of Tanzania's second-highest peak. This trek takes you through lush forests, rocky terrains, and breathtaking landscapes, allowing you to witness stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding areas.

While Mount Meru is considered a challenging trek, it is incredibly rewarding. The 3-day itinerary is designed to provide ample time for acclimatization while enjoying the natural beauty and unique wildlife of the region.

Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

Your adventure begins with a drive from Arusha to Momella Gate for registration. From there, the trek starts through the lush montane forest, where you may spot various bird species and monkeys. After approximately 4-5 hours of hiking, you will reach Miriakamba Hut (2,500 meters) for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

Today’s trek takes you from Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,570 meters), a journey of about 3-4 hours. The trail ascends through alpine meadows, offering stunning views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscape. Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, you will have dinner and prepare for the summit attempt the next day.

Day 3: Saddle Hut to the Summit and Descend to Momella Gate

Your summit attempt begins early in the morning. The climb to Little Meru (3,820 meters) takes approximately 2-3 hours. From there, you’ll continue to the summit of Mount Meru (4,566 meters), taking in the breathtaking views. After enjoying the moment, you will descend back to Saddle Hut for a short break before continuing down to Momella Gate. Expect a total trekking time of about 10-12 hours on this final day.
